Kedge Martin

Trusted Adviser - Family Governance, Transition and the Next Generation

Bio

Kedge Martin is an internationally experienced CEO, coach and strategic adviser with more than 30 years of leadership across professional services, philanthropy, education and high-performance talent development. She is widely recognised for her work supporting principals, senior leaders and rising generation family members through periods of transition, identity shift and increased responsibility.

She began her career as a researcher to a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) and political lobbyist in the late ’80s. In 1991, shortly after the collapse of communism in Eastern Europe and the USSR, she founded her first business in Poland.

After returning to the UK in the late ’90s, Kedge transitioned into the not-for-profit sector creating WellChild, now the UK’s leading charity for children with chronic illnesses. . She was then appointed CEO of Sentebale, Prince Harry’s foundation for children in Africa, and advised Their Royal Highnesses on the development of their Charities Forum.

Following her time at St James’s Palace working with one of the highest profile and most complex families, Kedge founded KMA, providing expert guidance to international UHNW families on succession planning, with a particular focus on family businesses in transition. Once described as the “Savile Row” of family services, KMA coaches senior executives in family offices and related professions, and delivers bespoke education programmes to prepare the next generation. The firm is highly recommended and was shortlisted as a Family Office Services Provider in the Spears Awards 2024.

Through her firm, KM Advisory, she has supported leaders across Europe, North America, Africa and the Middle East on succession readiness, leadership development, personal transition, identity work and the psychological dimensions of stepping into — or stepping back from — senior roles. Her approach combines strategic clarity with a deep understanding of the human challenges inherent in leadership and legacy.

Much of Kedge’s work with families centres on helping individuals build resilience, confidence and purpose as they navigate expectations, shifting responsibilities and complex family dynamics. She brings particular expertise in preparing rising-generation members for increased responsibility, supporting principals through leadership transitions, and strengthening communication across generations. Her calm, empathetic and incisive style is valued by families facing emotionally significant decisions.
